Chiropractic & Massage Clinic of Gorham Team

Gorham Chiropractor | Dr. Robert Lavoie

"As I crawled into the chiropractor's office I remember thinking... How in the world is this guy going to help me?  After two weeks of care, I was back playing sports."

"That was my first experience with chiropractic," continues Dr. Lavoie.  "Not only did chiropractic help with my back problems it helped with my chronic allergies and infections. Before that point I was plagued with tonsillitis and allergies to just about everything.  As I continued chiropractic care, my allergies got better and I was getting tonsillitis less frequently."

"After experiencing such positive results and the results my family and friends were getting I knew I wanted to become a chiropractor. It was simple, I wanted to help people the same way chiropractic helped me."

Dr. Lavoie completed his undergraduate education at the University of Maine at Fort Kent and Orono. After completing his studies there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years at Palmer courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, radiology, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Outpatient Clinic.

After graduating, Dr. Lavoie returned to Maine to complete an additional internship. He then held two associate positions in Scarborough and Falmouth before opening his own practice in 2006.

"My passion is people, I love learning from people and helping them anyway I can."  When Dr. Lavoie is not caring for patients you can find him cycling, enjoying the outdoors, spending time with family friends and enjoying music and movies.

"Thank you for visiting our site. I look forward to helping you anyway I can. Give us a call or email us with any question/concern that you may have."

Dr. Rob Asks some important questions of interest to Gorham residents - Chiropractor Gorham Dr. Rob Asks...

What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
Because they can be dangerous? I chose a chiropractic career specifically because it avoids artificial means of pain relief. Our Gorham chiropractic practice attracts health-conscious families that prefer a safe and natural solution. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
